Lunabuloona was born out of an idea my hubby Paul and I had tucked away in our minds as part of our wee life plan to go into business together many moons ago when we were practically kids playing at being grown ups together in our late teens. Finally, after 26 years of marriage (I know we don’t look old enough – hmmm) and bringing up our 3 children, we are left facing the next step in the adventure we call life.
After a nearly 30 year career working in the care sector and laterally a successful and often undeniably stressful career as a registered nurse with the NHS, it was no longer ticking my boxes, my physical and mental health were suffering as a consequence (life is too short and yer a long time deid). After a long time soul searching, ugly tears galore, tantrums (from me) and the love, support, endless belief and encouragement from my biggest cheerleader Paul, Lunabuloona was born and has kept me on my toes every since.
Data is mounting daily about the positives that a good laugh can bring in lightening mental load and tensions. Laughter really is an amazing stress relief, no joke!! With my background as a qualified mental health nurse and witnessing first hand the significant impact that current stressors are placing on all of our lives, it has always been important to me to incorporate humour into my brand and for it to be a positive experience with feel good factor for all involved.
With our first year of trading under our belts, we have navigated the labyrinth of the current financial climate, witnessed more plot twists than a soap opera, experienced the highs and lows of business and have shape shifted and adapted along the way to now be designing and running with our own range of the quirkiest, funniest and boundary pushing greetings cards, homeware prints and selection of funky nik nacs.
For those wanting to elevate their card game from the usual boring “best person in the whole world blah, blah, boke” and unleash their inner sass then ditch the sickly sweet talk and opt for our unapologetically rude greetings card collection that are as bold as your personality and guaranteed to bring a laugh.
